HOT POP
Shuttsie’s Hot Pop Slot with The
Wyre’s Paul Shuttleworth
This week we have new music from The
Levelers the next single out in for week’s time its
called Before The End it remains true to their traditional
style with a up tempo pace. Naturally 7 In the Air Tonight
is a single from a seven piece group from New York although
two members were born in Manchester they are currently on
tour Michael Buble. The guy’s have touch of the Boy
II Men sound and they have covered the classic Phil Collins
track this version is amazing and has a great track that
complements the vocal harmony’s it will available
to buy on 21st July.
Das Pop Underground is a debut single
from a band that has a similar edge to The Strokes. They
are three part Belgian and one part Kiwi there track is
commercial Indi pop track that is commercially friendly
and out on 28th July. The week after Tom Fuller Band have
a new track called Only In America quite a political track
about the State of the States not great.
Parlotones Here Comes The Rain Man starts
well with a very catchy introduction the foursome from Johannesburg
that have already made it onto MTV playlist are set for
big things around the world if you get chance have a listen.
New York City songstress Rachael Sage’s releases her
new frenetic single Vertigo on Monday 28th July. The dancer
turned songwriter is adept at illuminating dark subject
matter, including codependency, depression and Adultery.
So quite a deep subject matter for a chart single.
A bit of wait for the new Beth Rowley
single Sweet Hours from the Blues icon from Bristol as it
won’t be out till 11th August. It’s a vintage
, smoky blues laid back number that brings Beth’s
superb vocals to the fore. With it’s delicate piano
and downbeat guitar, this track provides the perfect accompaniment
to a chilled summers evening.
In the Clubs take an Eurthmics rift
and add a couple of extra beats and some vocals from The
Saturday’s a group out to prove you don’t have
to be a teenager to enjoy a pop song If This Is Love is
very commercial it has a great rhythm and set for big things
when its released at the end of July.
They are getting loads of media attention
since supporting Girls Aloud they have recently been on
T4, The Box, The Hits, Smash Hits and it’s an online
exclusive for MSN’s homepage. BWO Lay Your Love On
Me is quit a camp disco track that has already top the charts
in Sweden and given that Scandinavian pop acts likes Alphabeat,
Robyn and September are going down a storm it seams the
perfect time for them to bring their new single to the UK
and it will hit the chart at the end of July.
